Sprint Rolls Out Motorola Renegade V950 Flip Phone

Motorola Renegade V950 Sprint has added one more mobile phone in their kitty. This time the network operator has joined hands with Motorola to release the latest Renegade V950 mobile phone.

Based on Nextel Direct Connect push-to-talk services, the ultra-rugged mobile phone also incorporates Sprint’s Mobile Broadband network and voice calling capabilities. Featuring military specifications for dust, shock, vibration and blowing rain, the V950 ensures an efficient and effective operation even in tough environment.

The Motorola Renegade V950 phone is powered by Qualcomm’s QChat technology. It provides industry-leading push-to-talk performance, while operating on certain Rev. A portions of the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network. It also allows instant one-to-one push-to-talk communication that is interoperable with the millions of existing Nextel Direct Connect users as well as the one-to-many Group Connect that allows for quick communication with up to 20 other Nextel Direct Connect users on Sprint enabled PPT phones.

Other than that, the Motorola Renegade V950 mobile phone includes Bluetooth Wireless Technology, 2.0 megapixel camera with video capturing capability, live audio/video broadcast of all NFL games, Sprint Mobile Sync to access online tools, and support for AOL/AIM, Yahoo!, Windows Live (Hotmail and MSN) and more.

According to Danny Bowman, president of Nextel Direct Connect for Sprint, “Nextel Direct Connect is critical to Sprint’s position as the dominant player in the push-to-talk and GPS solution categories. Sprint is committed to Nextel Direct Connect and will continue to expand capabilities and options for our customers. With the addition of the Renegade V950, Sprint customers have another rough and tumble handset delivering the fastest national push-to-talk network matched with Sprint’s largest voice calling area and the nation’s largest mobile broadband network so they can do even more, faster.”

Other features of the V950 clamshell phone are the 2.2-inch display screen, a digital dual-band operating on 1900 MHz and 800 MHz, and a removable microSD. Measuring 4.1 x 2.1 x 0.66 inches, the V950 weighs 4.16 ounces.

Motorola’s Renegade V950 flip is available for an estimated price of $180 (approx. Rs. 8,040) with a two-year Sprint contract.
