Nokia announces the launch of the N96 mobile phone in the UK on October 1. Mobile operators like 3, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone will be carrying this phone.
Truly optimized for video and TV, the Nokia N96 multimedia phone features a 2.8″ display, 5 megapixel camera, a TV tuner, 16 GB internal memory and supports high end videos in various formats.
The new N96 phone lets you easily view your favorite videos and supports MPEG-4, Flash Video and Windows Media Video. You can transfer as well as access videos much faster with the high-speed USB 2.0 and WLAN and HSDPA support.
The N96 comes with an integrated DVB-H receiver which offers broadcasting of TV in select markets. Its huge memory capacity lets you store video content up to 40 hours, can be extended further with an optional microSD card.
Considering the buzz created by the iPhone 3G, we wonder whether the Nokia N96 will sustain its position in the markets. Let’s wait and watch.
