iPhone is an Expensive Device, GfK NOP Survey suggests

Apple iPhone is an expensive device in UK

From its announcement till date iPhone is in news due to various reasons. After its launch of the device in Europe, GfK NOP has released a shocking survey that British people are not considering the iPhone as a Christmas gift.

The research conducted amongst 500 people across UK suggests that though British people are aware of the iPhone, they are not very enthusiastic about it. Nearly 75% respondents knew about iPhone. While 72% people are put off by its price.

About eight percent people say that they did not like the device at all. Unexpectedly, 8% of British citizens have not even heard about the phone.

In the end only 2% people said that they would like to buy the iPhone for the coming Christmas.

“Apple’s history proves that it has the magic touch when it comes to product development and marketing, however the iPhone has yet to capture the imagination of the UK public,” said Richard Jameson of GfK NOP.

“iPhone hype is in full-force, but our data shows that it is very much a considered purchase, with its high price turning many consumers off. We must take into account that the UK mobile market’s success has been down to subsidised handsets, therefore the iPhone’s price really stands out and consumers are not used to paying in excess of £200 for a phone,” continued Jameson.

In short the study suggests that there would not be any high-demand for the iPhone during Christmas.
