Apple to bring iPhone to France via Orange
After a lot of hush between Apple and the lawsuits, Apple has partnered with Orange, the European mobile carrier, to release the unlocked version of the iPhone in the French market.
The French law forbids companies to bundle a handset to a mobile operator. Thus, Orange will provide both a locked version for about $560 and an unlocked version for a higher price.
Apple has also signed an agreement with 02 – the leading UK mobile operator, and T-Mobile – Germany’s largest wireless provider.
Apple iPhone is expected to go on sale on 29th November in France for €399 (approx. Rs. 22,600) through Orange.
When it comes to India, let’s hope that Apple will allow outside applications on iPhone and won’t get into a contract with the leading wireless services for the locked version.
