Thats a good news! This gives people some options for the high end devices. Since in india we hardly see such scheme for high end devices.

When they say it will be available for Airtel customers only, wont I just be able to switch the SIM card and use it with some other Provider ?

HTC Touch phone is quite desirable but as usual remote places like small towns in the North East India are painfully deprieved again owing to the unavailable Airtel Network in these remote places. We, helplessly, wish that Airtel has a CellOne type network which is available even in inacessible villages.

Just bought this phone from Global Access, Koramangala, Bangalore for Rs. 19.5K, went there to buy some cheap handset(coz I just lost my Sony K790i), the moment i looked at this phone i knew this is going to be my new phone.
Its too good, smaller in size, lighter in weight.I am still exploring the features of the phone. This phone is must buy for anyone who is looking for a phone in this segment.
Camera is great even though its 2MP, TouchFLo feature is awesome :) Touch screen is good too you can even use your thumb for navigation and all, average video player and sound quality
One thing it was available without any airtel connection so don't know why airtel is saying that they are the only one who is marketing this phone in India:O

Hi, I am from Kolkata. Do you think it can compete with iphone (well off-course except the graphics). What is the diff with WM 2005; WM 2003 was better for set to card back-up function. I hope it can provide with good back-up facility and a bit of .net framework, sql and java applications. WM2005 is good net surfur, hoping to see HTC with better net applicability. I wish to change over from imate pdal to touch very soon.

Airtel business ethics are not proper

They are the only authorized seller of HTC Touch, Price worth 20,000 and if any customer shows interest, he is forced to purchase the same without giving any demo of the piece. This is very ridiculus and unethical

Can't Airtel afford to keep the demo piece in their own centers ....or its like they have started taking customers and their money for granted.

I bought HTC one month back and it is the worst phone i have bought as of now. I can say that i have just thrown my money into dust bin. Stupid phone and stupid service from Airtel. The reason i am telling this is, i am not getting calls. I tried from my land line..., from the land line, the phone is ringing..., and there is no ring, no call in HTC. One more problem started two days back. I am not getting messages. I have given message from my friend's mobile, there it said the message is sent..., and no message in my inbox. My sincere suggestion is 'Dont go for this mobile. Even i have bought it, i am now using my old nokia phone and i am using HTC to show others that i have HTC. No use other than this..., One thing i can say is 'This is the most useless phones i have ever bought..., if some one offers me this to 1000 INR, i clearly say that i dont want to buy it..., it is as simple as that...,' If any one want any help regarding the features of this mobile, please feel free to mail me on 'nasmac12@yahoo.com'.

Please avoid buying the spam phones..., that are not at all useful for us..., avoid HTC.

Dear all, bought the phone about two weeks ago since I shifted from a motorolla A925. I am finding it to be a wonderfull phone, though have yet to use all of its functions. it has more possibilities than my last phone. It is definately sleeka nd apace saving and also light. teh battery lasts for about two days of heavy use whichs is faboulous. the camare is good. only problem is that tha phone is dependant on an internet connection for a lot of things, I am in teh process of setting up a wi fi network in order to be abl eto use some of the phones features. It also comes with a neat case. all in all i am happy with my buy.

    hi all,

I got this mobile / ppc 5 days back from rarjajinagar, bangalore. and found this one a very good and sexy device. have explored all the features :). it serves most of my needs.

I loved the one feature, that is, quick access to music/ photos/ videos/ important contacts and other features by moving the thumb from bottom to up and the either from left to right or right to left.

few things which I found to important features but not present are
    1. antivirus
    2. FM radio
    3. length of stylus had to be bit more lengthy or option of adjusting height.
    4. automatic backup on online server as provided my I-mate

was not able to find much tools/utilities online

let me know if anbody know which antivirus to install and and idea about FM radio.

    otherwise great device :)

    thanks!

I am in the US, and have see and felt this beauty. This is a must buy phone. Sleek slender and stylish! The touchflow is good but not as sood as the iPhone (that i have). However, i dont use a lot of my iphone either with so much in it. This phone is awesome for the price of 19K and i assure you you'll will not regret it.

I want to buy one from Mumbai as my bother lives there, is it available now?
  • Posted By: Shiva,Sep 14th, 2007 pm30 10.10pm

I purchased HTC touch a week back. Like it except that while responding to numeric prompts on dialled numbers, the entererd numeric responses are not captured properly. For instance if I dial airtel and on prompt for phone number I enter 123456 but the number sent is 11234566 or some other randome number.

Kind of frustrated with this behaviour.

Is there a patch available for this? Thx
