  hello,
  i have 2 problems with my handset that is samsung explore:-
  
  1-I am unable to set mp3 tone as a ring tone so please solve my problem as early as possible.
  2-I am not able to transfer vedios from my PC to my mobile because of unsupportable format.
  
  I HAVE A 1GB SD MEMORY CARD IN IT.

  I do facing the same problems
  I am not able to connect my phone to PC
  I dont understand how they launched the phone without proper Testing
  Infact nobody is responding in the Customer service center.
  It would be great if u could show the solution for this.

  I dont think that a data cable will work with explore model. Better go for a Micro SD Card and buy a card reader. The SD card will cost you around Rs:600/- (1 GB) and the Card reader will be around Rs:200/- and you can enjoy with !!

  Iam really in need of the data cable
  if it is not provided then what is the use of having the mobile with camera and MP3 player
  The data cable is not yet avilable in any of the showrooms
  its really very disgusting
  I hope samsung will kindly meet the needs of the customers.

  we cant set mp3 ringtones and we cant even load videos from the p.c.
  waste to buy explorer..even battery backup is not good.
  spending 5300 on this mobile is jst waste of money.

  I am a Samsung Explore user for past 5 months
  The cost of mobile is Rs. 5500
  You can set mp3 ringtone but it should not exeed size limit of 80 kb
  (You need a datacable to load mp3 ring tone you cant set it through MICRO SD card)
  The mobile is good at use but keys are bit difficult while composing sms

  hi m using it since three month u can buy cable in gray market in 100 rs. and pc suite provided with cd not working u can download from sumsungcdma.in ring tone could be download from tatazone but can u tell me how could i save ringtone upto 80kb in phone thx

  still everyone is waiting for the solution regarding the support of the video files as everyone was eager to know how the video files viewed or ringtones set or micro sd card status there where many problems but instead of solutions there was a sympathetic answer got from your seller. or i can say that rounded answer itis b'caiz of format,it is due to data cable etc.....

  You can set any MP3 file/song as ringtone on your Samsung Explore. No size constraints.
  Menu > MP3 > MP3 files > Scroll to your mp3 file > Options > Set to ringer > Call ringer > OK
  
  A general review on phone:
  Pros:

  Connecting to PC for internet is possible. I get maximum speed of 50 kbps. Can be used only in case of emergency as the Internet plans available for GPRS mobile from Tata indicom is not at all competitive.
  
  Also, I recently found that the GRPS modem inside my phone stopped responding. Tata indicom customer care technical team could not help much. 'Query modem' from computer was not giving any response after a few days of usage even though the Modem is detected.
  
  When it comes to voice call performance, The transmission looks weak even though reception is good. On many occassions intermittently the person at the other end is hearing broken voice from me.

  In my mobile i cud not see set ringer option in MP3 options.Can u please mention the version in settings menu so that i will try asking samsung care.Becoz i bought this in last November.Please reply.

  Hi, i am using this mobile phone since november, 07 and i have also contacted samsung customer care. According to them, the new samsung explore is equipped with an upgraded software which is capable of setting mp3 songs as ringtone. The older model can be upgraded by visiting nearest samsung centre as they will perform the required software upgrade and we will be able to set mp3 songs as ringtone.
  and abt videao, only recorded videos from samsung explore can be played in mobile, but videos copied from mobile will not work. also, we cannot install any software on our own, we can only download softwares avalable on tata zone..
  
  All the above are the limitations of this cell, which makes it a little bit less dearer.. nyway njoy with samsung explore!!

  when i removed battery from my cell while operating the net,i found that i cannot browse the internet in my cell when i restarted. i also found that my cell is switching off when i browse for net. so leave a solution for this problem.
