Spice TV to allow Users to Watch TV on Mobile Phones
Spice Telecom, one of the leading network providers in India has announced an innovative service for its subscribers, which would enable them to watch LIVE Cricket on their mobile phones. The new Spice TV will allow its subscribers to view upcoming Live Cricket series on their mobile phones for the first time in India.
This is the result of Spice-ICL partnership. Spice is the Official Telecom partner for the Indian Cricket League.
Mukul Khanna, Vice President Marketing, Spice Telecom said, “At Spice we always strive to offer great innovations to our subscribers. Spice TV is an initiative in this direction. Our subscribers can now watch live cricket on their phones. And what better an opportunity to launch this service than with ICL matches on in the tri-city wherein Spice Telecom is the Official Telecom partner.”
Apart from ICL matches, Spice subscribers can also watch 13 other TV channels including NDTV, Times Now, Zoom, Bindaas and Cartoon Network for cartoons.
Of course the service does not support all mobile handsets available in India, and currently it supports nearly fifty mobile phones. Below is the list of mobile phones that are compatible with Spice TV:
Spice has also said that it Future Device Support includes Spice, Samsung Motorola and other low end GPRS enabled devices on Nokia and Sony Ericsson.
To enable the service, Spice users will just have to dial *789# or send SPICETV as an SMS to 50789 to activate the service. Users will receive Install Spice TV application, upon installing that users will be able to watch TV even while on the move.
