amsung Metal Series Mobile Phones Samsung India launched 3 Metal Series Phones namely SGH E840, SGH D900i and SGH D840 in India today.

H. C. Ryu, Managing Director, Samsung Telecommunications India said, “India is a very critical market for Samsung and the launch of World’s slimmest slider Metal phone is a testimony to our commitment to meet the growing aspirations of consumers for sleek, aesthetically designed phones that accentuate their personality without compromising on premium multimedia capabilities.”

He further added, “The Metal Series range completely embodies everything that Indian consumers are seeking in a mobile in terms of unique metallic design and flawless performance, making it an instant attraction to business users, fashion conscious consumers and multimedia enthusiasts.”

Samsung claims that the SGH E840 is the world’s slimmest slide-up metallic phone in the world. The phone is equipped with full mirror LCD, hidden touch keypad and 2.22” wide TFT LCD screen. Besides the elegant look, the phone is incorporated with high end multimedia features such as 2 mega pixel camera, FM Radio, MP3 player, Mobile printing, document viewer and 70 MB internal memory with expandable microSD T flash external memory (upto 2GB).

The SGH D900i is as slim as 12.9mm and has stylish metal lining body. This phone also offers multimedia features like 3 mega pixel camera with dynamic user interfaces, vivid 262K color screen, Bluetooth stereo headset and FM Radio and new camera UI. Furthermore, the SGH D900i features enhanced battery life and speedy shutter.

Besides the metal body, the Samsung SGH D840 incorporates 2 Megapixel camera, MP3 player with integrated dual speaker, multi-format music player for listening music on your Bluetooth stereo headsets wirelessly along with 80 MB of internal memory and external microSD memory.

Samsung has not disclosed any information about the pricing and availability

    Ths phones are good loaded with features.. BUT the fun does not last long..
    Within one month of regular use you get to see the negative side of these Slim Samsung phones. Baterry life sucks.. and the slider stops working – the FCS cable which connects the base of the phone with the slider unit would break down due to poor design and quality.

    I had to get the same replaced twice before i replaced my Samsung phone for good.. Phones have become such critical part of your life – you cannot run on un reliable sets .. My recommendation – better to go fo more reliable sets – even if you have to shell out more money..

    Hi, saw the phones, looks are good, prices also competetive but the camera quality is a concern. D900i has 3.15 MP but picture not as sharp as Sony erricson. The usb datacable is added advantage but before i go for the kill, anyone who’s used can share the experience. that would be helpful

    I had brought E840 series on november 1 st.But the second day itself i faced a problem of not charging…When i went to the same shop from which i brought he gave my piece to Samsung service and replaced motherboard without my notice..I would like to share my view here is …that Is it reasonable to replace such piece withn 1 day use…How can we relay on such pieces?????/

    i had taken the metal series of samsung ie d840, on 13th april 2007.
    and in these 8 months the phone has really given tremendous problem to me, the screen in every month turns white and the phone does not work. even the bluetooth does not get connected with nokia phones. in 8 months i have repaired the phone 8 times but in next few months my warranty would be expired ….then what shud i do. in this manner we cannot trust ur intruments. so pls contact on my email id and let me kno if any solution could me made out of it.

    Why is Samsung discontinuing multi-lingual phone models likes C240. These can send SMS in Tamil and other languages.

    Now all the newer models dont have multilanguage options and Hindi-only.

    SHAME ON SAMSUNG FOR SHOWING THIS FAVOURITISM. Their office in Delhi need to remember that India is not Hindia.

    I bought a Samsung D900i and within 1 day i realised that the phone battery goes down within 4 – 5 hrs after charging completely for about 8 hrs(though i have talked about 20-25 min). when i take the set from where i purchased they just asked me to go to service centre. I am harased like hell. I never recomend anybody to buy such unreliable set like the same ..

    i am saravana prabu for the past 4 years i have been using 4 different samsung mobile, that is c-100,c-200,x-620,and now i am using e-840.
    i love my handset for iis sylish comfortable and more for its display clarity.
    but i dont have enough sound . not only in these models all models which i see.
    i order to increase the sale in india please enrich the sound atleast to the future handset .
