EA and PopCap launch latest version of Bejeweled Game for Mobile Phones

Electronic Arts (EA) has collaborated with PopCap Games to announce the availability of their new version of Bejeweled, the well-known gem-swapping game that can be played on mobile phones.

Coming to its features, Bejeweled consists of enhanced graphics, advanced audio and a unique multiplayer game mode. U.S mobile gamers can enjoy the games even with most wireless carrier networks.

A best-seller amongst mobile users, it provides multiplayer capabilities work cross-platform. Gamers can play either with their friends or can compete with an unknown player.

“We’ve taken the time to improve one of the best selling mobile games of all time, by improving the look, feel and playability, while adding new connected features. The innovative features of the platform allow for a whole range of interesting interactions between players that was not available before – like the opportunity to chat with other opponents,” said Travis Boatman, VP Worldwide Studios at EA Mobile.

Bejeweled lovers can now experience three different game modes such as Normal (untimed), Time Trial and Multiplayer with dynamic graphics. Mobile Bejeweled players can also experience the game with move, shake and explode feeling while the game is in action, along with enhanced sound and handset vibration functions.

Moreover, players can also keep track of best game performances till date. Users can also keep track of advanced social networking features like post-game chat, add to the fun and competition of connected play.

All the major mobile carriers in North America and Europe offer Bejweled for $1.99 (approx. Rs. 80). However it’s not known whether the charge for the game is monthly or weekly.
