Cricinfo MobiCast, Free Live ball-by-ball Cricket Commentary on Mobile Phones
Cricinfo Mobile has introduced a new live service called the Cricinfo MobiCast. This service offers a live, ball-by-ball update and scorecard that is delivered to internet/GPS enables mobile phones.
Cricinfo has tied up with Plusmo to provide this free service with only the standard data charges that are applicable based on the carrier’s rate plan. Other than that, there are no extra charges.
Anil Nair, Head-Wireless Media, Cricinfo said “The ball-by-ball updates is one of the most popular features in Cricinfo for cricketing fans worldwide since it offers informed, uninterrupted match updates live through a user’s browser, thereby replicating the closest experience of watching a match live. The same feature in a mobile phone assumes even more significance since it enables fans to keep tabs on matches, with every single ball, even on the move.”
It is said that the service is currently supports over 500 mobile handsets across various brands with plans to add more mobile operating systems and devices into the list.
