A newly-launched Apply iPhone has created a huge impact world wide. Now there are rumors flowing about India launch of the iPhone.
Apple India unnamed sources revealed that Apple’s phone-cum-ipod will soon enter the Asian market. It would first hit Japan, followed by India and China in early 2008. The iPhone will hit European stores in September this year.
According to the sources, service provider such as Vodafone, Airtel, RCom, even Wipro are in the race to grab Apple’s iPhone contract, in India. Probably, the device would range between Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000.
On the contrary, some Apple resellers said that the official introduction of the Apple iPhone will be in March next year. They even said that few lucky buyers might get an iPhone from the grey market for approx. Rs. 25,000 within a week or two. Moreover, some dealers have already ordered around ten to twelve iPhones and they are expecting to grab them soon.
From past four to five months, about dozen of inquires have been coming after the iPhone on any given day, say dealers. “It is ‘very disappointing’ that Apple should launch its iPhone so late in one of the biggest markets. Especially when everyone’s drooling over the device even without having seen it. The biggest USP of the iPhone seems to be its multi-tap interface,” comments a tech-enthusiast.
A very interesting quote of John Naisbitt, which says, “With luxury goods, here is a paradox: Exclusivity is the name of the game, and if these goods become common and less costly, they lose their exclusivity – and their market,” was expressed by a not-so-technology source.
Now, let’s wait for Apple to officially announce the availability of the Apple iPhone in the county.
