Reliance ‘Classic’ range of affordable Handsets unveiled in India

Reliance Classic Range of Handsets

On May 2, Reliance Communications, India’s second largest private telecom operator and telecom business wing of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, launched a range of affordable mobile handsets.

The newly launched ‘Classic’ Range of mobile handsets comprises the Classic 202, the Classic 204 and the Classic 203 handsets. This new series of handsets have prices starting from Rs.777.

According to company President, Personal Business, S P Shukla, “Through our new ‘Classic’ range of feature-rich handsets, we are confident of extending the benefits of mobility to an entirely new segment of population in metros, small cities, as well as the rural hinterland of India.”

The newly launched affordable mobile handsets belong to either the Color-FM series, or the Color Display, or Black and White display series. These phones are supported by a nationwide after-sales service network as well.

All the Reliance ‘Classic’ handsets are SIM-enabled, allowing customers to easily change from one model to another, while retaining the Reliance SIM card.

The Classic 202 handset is priced at Rs.777, while the Classic 204 and the Classic 203 handsets are priced at Rs.844 and Rs.888 respectively. However, according to Reliance sources, these prices are introductory and are valid for a limited period of time till the stocks actually last.

Though the sets are quiet affordable for normal INDIAN people, but the company is most unreliable company in the whole world.

the classic range of phone introduce by reliance is the most unreliable phone. i am suffering since the day i bought it. the classic 762 phone was totally a night mare for me. it stops during the middle of the conversation, the earphone are of poor quality, it restarts by itself, it does not catch the network.

Classic 762 is a horrible experience. Its performance can be used as an electric iron to press clothes as it become very hot during conversation rather using as a mobile phone. The battery cannot retain charge, Audio quality is very very bad. As a whole it has become a nightmare since I purchase it on 25th October, 2008 from Reliance World Outlet at Shivam Chambers,53,Sayed Amir Ali Avnue, Kolkata. The sales persons there misguide customers and cheat them by push selling this bogus hand set.In all metros except Kolkata the Reliance outlets have discontinued selling of Classic due to their defects, production is also stopped, spares are not available. Only that Kolkata outlet is push selling these old unsold stock and even used sets(packed in sealed box) and therby is cheating customers. Prospective customers should be very carefull while dealing with this particular outlet.
