Toilet-finding SMS Service introduced by SatLav in London
While traveling, searching for toilets has always been quite a problem. Now there’s good news as you can find a toilet through SMS.
Westminster City Council has introduced an SMS service for Londoners, that informs them about the nearest public toilet. Mobile Phone users need to text ‘toilet’ to 80097 and get the location of the nearest public toilet. SatLav systems, who use technology to locate the nearest toilet and texts the details to the users’ mobile phone, will charge 25 pence per text.
SatLav will provide locations from the council’s 40 public toilets, plus those of the Greater London Authority, London Underground and some major department stores.
The head behind the innovative program is Gail Knight, 26, Student of the Council. She expressed, “When I’m out with friends we’re always ducking into McDonalds or department stores to use their loos but we feel a bit bad about it. I thought a text service would be really useful for people on the move.”
The toilet-finding service is available across the Westminster, an area that includes many of the capital’s most popular sights, including Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace.
This service is indeed helpful for tourist. And it will also reduce the ‘street urination’ too.
