Adobe Flash Lite 3 Software for Mobile Devices Released
Adobe System has introduced a new Flash Lite 3 software for its well-known flash player, for mobile phones that delivers at the quality of live video.
Earlier, the Adobe flash player has been used by online web sites such as YouTube. This time, Nokia and NTT DoCoMo Inc will be utilizing the Flash Lite 3 for their upcoming phones.
According to the company, by 2010 Adobe aims to ship more than a billion Flash-enabled devices. Up till now, over 300 million handsets featuring previous version of flash has already been shipped.
Al Ramadan, senior vice president for Mobile and Devices at Adobe said, “With Flash Lite 3 and its support for video, we’ve passed a major milestone in bringing a desktop experience to mobile and transforming the wireless industry.” Adding, “Today, mobile users experience amazing Flash-based user interfaces and applications with handsets like the LG Prada, the LG Chocolate or the Samsung D900. With Flash Lite 3, tomorrow’s devices will offer even richer, more engaging experiences.”
According to Kiyohito Nagata, senior vice president and managing director of the Product Department of NTT DoCoMo Inc, “NTT DoCoMo was the first company to incorporate Flash technology into mobile phones. We are pleased to continue our strong partnership with Adobe and are looking forward to providing our users with rich content using Flash Lite 3.”
Adobe Flash Lite runs on S60 on Symbian OS, second and third edition, Qualcomm BREW 2.x/3.x and Microsoft Windows Mobile 5, in addition to embedded operating systems on a variety of OEM platforms for the consistent content delivery, broader distribution and simpler publishing, testing and selling.
Lee Epting, vice president, Forum Nokia, Nokia Corp said, “We’re proud to be working with Adobe to further our mission of providing S60 Smartphone users with superior multimedia experiences.” Adding, “Flash Lite 3 will enable us to deliver richer content to our customers, such as videos and animated ringtones. This reinforces Nokia’s commitment to mobile innovation and provides an exciting new channel for content delivery and consumption.”
With the new Adobe software, mobile users can access material at their preferable time and also develop more engaging applications, interfaces and mobile assets that not only incorporate video, but also create ground-breaking and dynamic mobile assets such as wallpapers, screensavers or casual games. Moreover the proficient resource management capabilities have the ability to enhance and optimize performance for mobile devices.
