MOTU MicroBook II ready to replace the original edition

MOTU MicroBook II

Enhanced with new features, the MOTU MicroBook II is being tossed in by the company as a replacement to its original offering. This seems like a fresh and suitable option for music buffs who would like to own a professional quality portable, mini mixing studio.

With dimensions measuring 5.5 x 3.5 x 1.25 inches, this gadget can even be ported around by slipping it into the pocket. The device features four input ports for a mic and a hi-Z guitar, in addition to a stereo balanced line in. Along with this, it also sports six computer output channels on four pairs such as stereo mini line, S/PDIF digital out, balanced TRS quarter-inch main and phones. Housed in a rugged cast metal case, this bus-powered audio interface is compatible with Mac as well as PC.

“For discriminating users who insist on the very best audio quality, MicroBook II delivers unmatched performance for compact, personal recording,” conveyed Jim Cooper, Marketing Director at MOTU. “Plug in a mic, guitar, keyboard, and powered speakers, then enjoy sound quality that rivals other audio interfaces in the six to eight hundred dollar range.”

The device employs Internal CueMix technology which allows users to configure varying stereo mixes for every output pair, comprising different combinations of host audio tracks and live inputs. These mixes can be sent to a separate output by using the integrated test tone or white and pink noise generator.

The MOTU MicroBook II release date is scheduled to fall sometime this spring. Also, it will be made available for the same price as the original MicroBook, which is $269 (approx. Rs. 13,250).
