Sennheiser showcased its two new MKH series shotgun microphones at NAB Show, Las Vegas. The audio specialist reveals that these shotgun devices, dubbed MKH 8060 and MKH 8070, can be used as analogue or digital microphones.

The MKH 8060 is a compact and versatile microphone for home on or off camera. On the other hand, the long MKH 8070 rifle microphone is crafted for distant sound sources. It can be aptly used for sports reporting and nature recording. Sennheiser MKH 8060 and MKH 8070 promise to deliver natural and life-like sound. This is possible as off-axis sound has been attenuated without colouration.

Both microphones tout to be weather-resistant, owing to the radio-frequency condenser principle. This attribute is said to help them offer resistance against extreme cold and moisture.

Apparently, Sennheiser MKH 8060 and MKH 8070 microphones will be available for purchase after the NAB Show.
