Toshiba intros Viamo laptop ultrasound system

Toshiba Logo Integrating the portability of a laptop system with advanced radiology, Toshiba America Medical Systems recently introduced Viamo laptop ultrasound system.

Toshiba’s Viamo is developed from a radiology foundation and replaces expensive cart-based systems needed to image patients at bedside. The Viamo laptop ultrasound system is said to be suitable for a variety of patient exams, including traditional radiology, pediatric, emergency, OB/GYN, vascular and bariatric.

“The Viamo provides the best value in the hand-carried class by offering a feature-rich, portable system at a reasonable price point. With the ability to perform high-end radiology exams using a portable laptop system, Viamo rounds out Toshiba’s ultrasound product line, delivering function and value in the hand-carried segment, along with the exceptional image quality and clinical accuracy Toshiba is known for,” mentioned Girish Hagan, vice president, Marketing, Toshiba.

The Toshiba device presents superior image quality and color flow as compared to those of larger, more expensive cart-based systems. The laptop ultrasound system features a simple touchscreen interface that is programmable in both panel and tablet modes. It also allows users to interchange Toshiba transducers while using Viamo’s transportation pole, improving productivity and flexibility.

Toshiba will exhibit the Viamo at this year’s Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting, held in Chicago from November 29 to December 4.
