Samsung strengthens its renowned Guru series with new handsets namely the Guru 1070, Guru 1100, Guru 1125, Guru 1210, Guru 1310 and Guru 1410 for the Indian market.

With the Bright Torch Light function, the Samsung Guru 1070 and Guru 1100 features Advanced Mobile tracker, 65K Colour CSTN display, speakerphone and 40 polyphonic ringtones. The entry-level Samsung Guru 1070 comes with Bright Torch Light of up to 40 hours. The Samsung Guru1100 is equipped with Bright Torch Light up to 20 hours, MP3 downloadable ringtones, pre-embedded bollywood ringtones and the popular game Sudoku. The Guru1070 and Guru1100 handsets are priced at Rs.1649 and Rs.1779 respectively.
The Samsung Guru 1125, Guru 1210 and Guru 1310 are the latest FM capable handsets. All these handsets come equipped with 65K Colour CSTN display, Advanced Mobile tracker, 40 polyphonic ringtones, Hinglish database and you can also set a talk time limit per month. The Guru 1125 clamshell with Glossy front design offers longer battery talk time and Stereo FM playability for up to 17 hours. The Guru 1210 adorns a candy bar design with several quality features such as 12 hours of talk time, uninterrupted Stereo FM up to 20 hours. The Samsung Guru1125 will cost you Rs.2149, the Guru 1210 is priced at Rs.2259 while the Guru 1310 handset is priced at Rs.2649.
The Guru1100 and Guru1125 incorporate the Mobile Prayer feature which lets you set your Mobile Prayer according to your religious preference.
Well, the much talked about among the new entrants in the Guru Series handsets is the Guru 1410 which can play Mp3 files on its built-in Dual Loud Speakers along with other quality features such as 4 MB internal memory which can be expanded up to 2 GB, Stereo FM with recording and Bluetooth. The Guru 1410 with 1GB Micro SD memory card is priced at Rs.3,429.
Pros: Great value for money phone with most required features (esp if you do not have a use for a camera). usb charging option (if additional usb cable purchased). really long talktime 10hrs + (yet to personally verify that but does look fairly on target). additional memory card free with the handset (512mb /1gb/ 2gb). bluetooth / gprs / fm radio + recording etc.
cons: lack of usb drivers support for pc sync. no mention of the phone on the Samsung india website till 15th May 09. (more than 70 days from above article date)
