Apple: Over a million iPhone 3G S models sold in 3 days

Apple recently launched its highly anticipated iPhone 3G S. The company now claims to have sold over a million iPhone 3G S models in just three days after its launch. Moreover, six million customers are believed to have downloaded the iPhone 3.0 software within five days of its launch.

It is said to be the quickest iPhone with an array of features which include improved performance, speed and longer battery life.

“Customers are voting and the iPhone is winning,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “With over 50,000 applications available from Apple’s revolutionary App Store, iPhone momentum is stronger than ever”

This iPhone also incorporates 3 megapixel autofocus camera, iPhone OS 3.0, user-friendly video recording along with hands free voice control. The iPhone OS 3.0 includes MMS, Spotlight Search, landscape keyboard, Cut, Copy, Paste and more.

The camera of this iPhone aids recording of hi-fi video clips which can be edited and shared through MobileMe or YouTube with just a single tab. In addition to this, dial a number using the voice control feature.

The iPhone’s Voice Over feature reads the text appearing on the screen whereas the White on Black feature grants higher contrast by reversing the colors on the screen. Furthermore, the universal zoom function magnifies the entire screen for better view.

The iPhone 3G S meets the standards of OpenGL ES 2.0 which ensures high quality 3D graphics. Moreover, it supports 7.2 Mbps HSDPA that facilitates quick and smooth networking.

Users can access over 50 thousand applications from Apple’s App store. The 16GB Apple iPhone 3G S is now available at $199 (approx. Rs.9,693) while the 32GB one is priced at $299 (approx. Rs.14,565).
