LeapFrog unveils Text & Learn PDA and other Devices for Kids

Leapfrog Text & Learn PDA Kudos to kids who always tend to enact like grown-ups by using their parents’ valuable products! This innocent yet mischievous behavior has compelled manufacturers to design devices that resemble the actual handsets and tablets but does the work of a children-oriented gadget.

Intended to help parents for their offspring’s learning and growth, LeapFrog Enterprises Inc., has launched Text & Learn, My Pal Scout and My Pal White, AlphaPet Explorer and Scribble & Write.

The main purpose of introducing Text & Learn toy is “Save Your PDA”. The just-for-kids learning PDA is targeted at children aged three and older. This PDA-like device has no phoning capabilities; instead it features letter matching and shape identification functions along with QWERTY keyboard navigation games. All these attributes not only assist preschoolers to learn but also to play while on the run. They can even exchange messages with an onboard puppy pal Scout, check Scout’s calendar as well as explore in a pretend browser mode – all these help the children to build pre-school readiness skills.

“There are endless stories of children doing crazy things with their parents’ PDAs, including accidentally sending emails to bosses or dropping them in the toilet,” stated Nancy MacIntyre, Executive Vice President, Product, Innovation and Marketing for LeapFrog. “But the reality is that because these devices have become such an important part of our personal and work lives, it is only natural that kids want to try them out. Text & Learn lets kids enjoy pretending to be ‘busy grown-ups,’ while sparing their parents’ PDAs.”

Apart from the Text & Learn, the other new learning toys are the green My Pal Scout and purple My Pal Violet that lend a hand to children above six months. Both these devices come with a USB connection and learning skills such as first words, daily routines and counting. With the two gadgets, parents can personalize it with their child’s name and favorite things such as color and food amongst others.

There is also LeapFrog’s AlphaPet Explorer for toddlers to get acquainted with phonics games and even hear fun songs, facilitating them to develop skills like letter recognition and fine motor coordination. Now, two-year-old curious kiddos can be guided to understand letters names and sounds in an amusing way!

LeapFrog has also unveiled a handheld, dubbed the Scribble & Write, for three-year-olds to get early writing assistance. It offers easy step-by-step guidance with the ability to help children to trace lit-up figures on the LED screen. Furthermore, the gizmo also aids them to practice drawing with simple shapes and pictures, subsequently modify their ability to writing upper- and lowercase letters. The Scribble & Write also incorporates fun learning games to strengthen letter recognition and pencil control skills.

Price wise, the Text & Learn, My Pal Scout, AlphaPet Explorer, Scribble & Write and My Pal Violet are worth $21.99 (approx. Rs. 1,086), $19.99 (approx. Rs. 987), $19.99 (approx.
