TEAC HD-1 HD Radio unveiled

TEAC HD-1 Teac has announced its first HD Radio device, TEAC HD-1. This iPod docking system incorporates the HD Radio technology that delivers remarkable audio experience and amazing content through HD Radio programming.

“With digital radio reaching critical mass across America, TEAC is excited to unveil the HD-1, our introductory HD Radio product. In keeping with our heritage of offering consumers high-quality, high-performance products and stylish design, the decision to include HD Radio technology’s advanced digital entertainment is a natural one,” said Randy Madey, National Sales Manager, TEAC America, Inc. “The affordable HD-1 will be sold at Costco and is a great value proposition for consumers in this economy. The HD Radio receiver will deliver premium sound with an iPod dock and a seamless music buying experience via iTunes Tagging.”

With the HD Radio technology, the device offers latest FM channels, amazingly clear digital sound and displays the artist and title information, all of it absolutely free.

Additionally, the innovative iTunes Tagging lets you tag songs which you hear on FM HD Radio stations just by the press of a button. On connecting to an iPod or iPhone, the HD-1 automatically uploads the song related data. So next time you sync the iPod to iTunes, the “Tagged playlist” will show all the tagged songs that can be previewed, purchased or downloaded.

The TEAC HD-1 plays as well as charges iPhones and the iPods including the iPod Touch. It also includes a remote control, dual alarm clock with a snooze button, five equalizer presets, a headphone jack and video and audio outputs. Its rear-firing ports ensure a rich bass response for superior sound. The TEAC HD-1 is priced at $129.99 (approx Rs. 6,716).
