Sharp PW-GT570 PW-At770 Electronic Dictionaries

Sharp has unveiled two new devices for its Papyrus Electronic dictionary, called the PW-GT570 and PW-AT770, in the Japanese market. The company boasts that these models are the world’s first electronic dictionary with backlit display, ensuring easy reading in dark.

Both the models feature 5.5-inch high-resolution LCD monochrome HVGA displays and the secondary backlit touch screen display, which integrates handwriting recognition ability for traditional ‘Japanese’ and ‘English’ languages. Furthermore, other handwriting recognition languages include ‘Chinese (simplified)’ and ‘Korean (Hangul)’.

Available in white, pink and blue colors, Sharp Papyrus electronic dictionary PW-GT570 carries a text to speech engine that consists of more than 50,000 words. This device seems to be perfect for high school students.

Additionally, these electronic dictionaries from Papyrus work on two AAA alkaline batteries that offer a continuous battery life of 120 hrs between the charges. Both the models have a dimension of 146 mm × 105.3 mm × 21.2 mm and weigh around 290g after placing battery and card.

The Sharp Papyrus electronic dictionary PW-AT770 will be available in silver, black and red colors by January this year, whereas the Papyrus electronic dictionary PW-GT570 is expected to be available on 9th February.

Sharp has not announced the price of both the Papyrus electronic dictionaries.
