Livescribe Pulse Smartpen for Mac announced

Livescribe announces the new Pulse smartpen for the Apple Macintosh as well as some new key features for Windows users which include handwriting to text transcription software and printing dot paper notepads for free. The Pulse smartpen captures handwriting, records audio and synchronizes it to the writing.
It lets you easily make notes and record audio linked to those notes simultaneously. The pen comes with a scanner that records every word written and the audio at the same time.
The Smart Pen now offers “MyScript for Livescribe” text transcription software lets you transcribe handwritten notes into text. This software will be available with Livescribe Desktop for Windows (version 1.4) from Nov 24.
The users can also print Dot paper notepads for free from Livescribe Desktop toolbar on most color laser jet printers. The printers must be Adobe Post Script compatible and print at 600dpi or higher. The Version 1.4 of the Livescribe Desktop also includes full support for Windows XP 32 bit and Vista 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.
The 1 GB and 2 GB Pulse smartpen are priced at $149 (approx Rs. 7,340) and $199 (approx Rs. 9,799) respectively. It is available in the electronics section at Target stores, Costco wholesale stores and online at the Amazon and Livescribe websites and over 100 major campus bookstores.
