Sony to enter in HD Radio Product Market
Sony Corp. has announced their entry in the category of HD Radio products. Sony will join the companies delivering next generation radio technology by availing HD Radio in the market from July.

HD radio is a next generation radio that allows radio stations to deliver extra music content on up to four side channels that is allied on the frequency it already uses. For which even radio channels have to prepare themselves with respective technology. As of now 1200 radio channels in US have adopted HD technology.
On the occasion Andrew Sivori, a senior product marketing manager at Sony’s personal audio division said, “Digital terrestrial radio is the last frontier in audio and it’s coming to price points that are becoming more reasonable for consumers”
XDR-S3HD, a tabletop AM/FM/HD radio, and the XT-100HD, a tuner module for vehicles will be the first two Sony HD Radio products to be launched.
Model XDR-S3HD, a tabletop radio has a simple look like radios in olden days. Yet it carries a classic design and advanced technology. The radio has 20 AM and 20 FM presets, which stores radio stations for quick access. Moreover the Sony radio has functions such as -in AM/FM/HD digital tuner and separate bass and treble controls. Besides, the Sony Table HD radio is incorporated with LCD display, built-in clock with sleep timer and alarm.
The other model, XT-100HD is especially design to listen to HD music while on the move. XT-100HD is a tuner module for vehicles. This module can connect through the Sony head unit’s bus interface. The XT-100HD can store lot of information about the track which includes artist names and song titles, radio station names and genres, etc.
The prices of XDR-S3HD and XT-100HD will be $200 and $100 respectively.
