Sony Vaio lineup enhanced for spring, splashed with additional colors
The Sony Vaio lineup has undergone a makeover of sorts as the company has refreshed the range with more colors and enhancements in time for the spring season, reports the official Sony blog. Not long ago, the company had introduced a number of devices at the CES 2012 and now it is ready to offer some more options to its users.
First up is the Sony Vaio Z series, which will not only be made available in the Carbon Fiber Silver shade, but also support 4G data service with the help of the built-in LTE mobile broadband. The series will also feature second generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors in addition to Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.5GHz. The newly integrated RAID SSDs will further add to these devices’ storage capacities. The S series as well as the E series will also run the second generation Intel Core processors.
Besides extended battery life, the S series will now offer better graphics performance with the assistance of AMD Radeon HD 6470M or AMD Radeon HD 6630M. The 15-inch variant of this series will be fitted with a 15.5-inch full HD IPS display of 1920 x 1080p resolution. Moreover, the C series notebook is slated to be made available in the Kaleidoscopic pink shade, a floral pattern especially designed for spring. This textured design complete with a film lamination will be offered with 14- and 15-inch laptops. Another one is the Geometric Black model, boasting of minimal design on the top as well as inside the laptop.
The software updates of these devices include the new Media Gallery 2.0 along with Music Unlimited. The L series and the F series systems have been loaded with the Sony Imagination Studio Multimedia Edition and Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD to edit audio as well as video clips. Furthermore, the C series notebooks of configuration 14 and 15 inches will be packaged along with laptop sleeves worth $40 for a limited period.
The Sony Vaio Z series laptop price starts at $1949.99 (approx. Rs. 97,860) and will be accompanied with Power Media Dock drive. The 13-inch and 15-inch S series are priced at $799.99 (approx. Rs. 40,150) and $979.99 (approx. Rs. 49,190), respectively and are expected to hit stores in February this year.
