CTL MB40U Ubuntu Notebook

Newly introduced, the CTL MB40U Ubuntu notebook appears to be quite a sleek device which operates on a 2GHz second generation Intel Core-i processor. This mobile device seems to stand a class apart from the numerous laptops that are powered by Windows and Mac OS X as it runs on the open-source Linux-based OS, Ubuntu 11.10.

The MB40U is the company’s first Ubuntu compatible laptop and features 2GB DDR3 RAM. It possesses an Intel N6200 a/b/g/n Pro adapter for facilitating wireless connectivity and is capable of lending support to up to 8GB of DDR3 memory. Users are given access to the expansive suite of Ubuntu applications that can be downloaded from the Ubuntu Software Center.

Weighing 2.19kg, the notebook comes equipped with a 14.1-inch 1366 x 768p widescreen LED LCD display and is integrated with UMA Intel graphics. The incorporated Ubuntu One service lets users stream music from their personal Ubuntu One cloud to iPhones and Android smartphones. They can also share files with Windows computers via the Ubuntu One cloud.
