Durable Samsung N100 netbook now in India

Samsung has announced the launch of the Intel Atom processor powered N100 netbook in India weighing a little more than a kilogram. The ultra-light Samsung N100 netbook is said to be apt for connectivity on the go.
The scratch-resistant Duracase exterior makes the netbook robust and durable for a longer period of time. Along with the durability, the device is also elegantly designed in shades of black and white. Fitted with a 10.1-inch LED display, the anti-reflective WSVGA screen has a matt finishing which avoids the mirror effect.
Besides the Dual Core Intel Atom processor, the device is equipped with the MeeGo operating system which facilitates faster boot-up. The operating system can also be optioned with a DOS or Genuine Windows 7 OS. Further, it incorporates the Intel GMA 3510 graphics processor for discrete, enhanced graphics and 1GB DDR3 RAM. It also supports hard disk drive of up to 250GB.
“The N100’s design is based on our tremendously successful N150P Netbook, which has sold over 3 million units to date. The N100 Netbook demonstrates Samsung’s continued innovation while delivering superior quality, mobility and satisfaction to our customers. The N100 continues our line of high-quality Netbooks and represents superb value for money,” commented Ranjit Yadav, Country Head, Samsung Mobile and IT.
The compact Samsung N100 netbook employs an ergonomic keyboard with key spacing for comfortable typing. The device is said to be energy-efficient to increase the battery life and reduction in the power usage. It provides instant access to social networking websites and various other offline applications.
In order to allow connecting the netbook to various peripherals, it is embedded with two USB 2.0 ports. It can also be connected to big screen monitors using the VGA port. Also included are the DC-In power port, RJ45 for LAN and a four-in-one card slot.
The Samsung N100 netbook is up for grabs at a price of Rs. 12,290.
