Acer has introduced another ‘road warrior’ called TravelMate 8481 for users who are constantly on the move. The Acer TravelMate 8481 laptop with a long battery life not only delivers high performance but also secures data.
The light in weight, slim notebook boasts of a second generation Intel Core processor which works 60 percent faster than its precursors. Besides saving energy it allows users to multitask efficiently. For clear images and vivid colors, the device is integrated with Intel HD Graphics 3000 which is optioned with Nvidia Optimus technology for discrete graphics.
Displaying content on big screen HDTVs or on multiple monitors is possible with the Intel Wireless Display technology which requires a simple wireless connection. The laptop can be customized with HDD up to 320GB along with an SSD of 64GB capacity apart from its 8GB DDR3 memory. In addition to this, the device supports most card formats with the help of its multi-in-1 card reader.
The Acer TravelMate 8481 laptop is powered by the Acer PowerSmart long cycle battery for a battery life of up to nine hours. It is fitted with a 14-inch ComfyView LCD LED backlit HD screen of 1366×768 resolution. The ultra-slim display with an aspect ratio of 16:9 is frameless to increase its area by 15 percent. The communication options of the device are inclusive of Acer InviLink Nplify Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet.
Moreover, the Linux based Acer InstantView boots the laptop within 8 seconds. It can be connected to various devices with the help of its USB 3.0 port which can also be used to charge handheld devices. Encased in a magnesium-aluminum exterior, it is protected with the Autolock feature and the Disk Anti-Shock Protection.
The Acer BioProtection Fingerprint and Trusted Platform Module together safeguards the data stored in the notebook. To avoid dust build-up in the system, the laptop incorporates the Acer DustDefender technology. A larger TouchPad and FineTouch keyboard with dedicated hotkeys add to the comfort level.
The Acer TravelMate 8481 laptop will be available with a warranty of up to three years. Though, its pricing and availability details have not been mentioned.
