Samsung N230 netbook hops into market

News of MSI’s Wind U160DX netbook seems to have created a lot of noise on the technology terrain. Now Samsung has announced the addition of the N230 to its N-series of netbooks. This slim and sleek feature-rich device maybe considered apt for design conscious users.
Customers are given a choice between the Intel Atom N450 processor operating at a speed of 1.6GHz and the Intel Atom N470 processor with 1.8GHz of speed. The netbook integrates the NM10 chipset and is fitted with a 10.1” LED back-lit WSVGA display exhibiting resolutions of 1024 x 600p. It is also accompanied by an island-type keyboard.
The visual attributes of this device are supported by Intel GMA3150 integrated graphics. Owners can avail of either a 160GB or a 250GB SATA HDD functioning at 5400rpm. The gizmo supports both Bluetooth 3.0 as well as Bluetooth 3.0 High Speed. If powered by a 32Wh battery, the device lasts for about 7 hours and a 66Wh battery keeps it active for about 13.8 hours.
The N230 features the Fast Start functionality that allows it to boot faster and also the sleep mode that saves the data to the HDD. Wireless connectivity of the device is backed by 802.11bgn LAN as well as an optional 3G modem. The All-Share technology lets users transfer content to a host of DLNA devices.
Additionally, with the Easy File Sharing solution users can enable connections without the need of internet access or network setting. The company’s Recovery solution offers users automatic data back-up capability. Owners can use the device in sensitive environments by operating in the Silent Mode too.
The chassis of this gadget flaunts a shiny, mat and patterned black surface. Further, with the 32Wh battery, the netbook weighs about 1.03kg and its dimensions amount to about 264mm x 188mm x 23.2mm. If fitted with the 66Wh battery, it weighs about 1.18kg with dimensions of about 264mm x 188mm x 34mm.
The Samsung N230 netbook is already out on shelves.
