HP tosses in pocket-friendly G62m and Pavilion dv7t laptops

The laptop segment has previously been bombarded with multiple stylish or 3D capable devices for enchanting users. Well, HP is here and it begs to differ. The company has recently shed some light on its two affordable laptop series for everyday computing needs, the G62m and Pavilion dv7t. Keeping in mind basics and simplicity, the 15.6” and 17.3” notebooks have been designed to tap budget-conscious users.
The matte blue G62m sports a 15.6″ diagonal high-definition LED display for delivering a 16:9 aspect ratio to enjoy HD content. With a clear energy-efficient LED panel, this device is embellished with a streamlined full size keyboard and touchpad for effortless navigation. Frequently used items can be accessed with a single touch to e-mail, power DVD, Web, printer and calculator keys.
Fitted with Altec Lansing speakers, the G62m laptop touts to render a theater-like sound experience. Along with built-in Wi-Fi and an included digital microphone, it also comes with three USB 2.0 ports, and HDMI card reader. Furthermore, this Energy Star qualified device employs Intel Celeron processors and runs on Windows 7 Home Premium. The included 6-cell battery proffers extended hours of work and play.
On the other hand, the 17.3” dv7t series is powered by Intel Core i3 and i5 processors featuring Turbo Boost for enhanced multitasking. Based on Windows 7 Home Premium, it boasts of 16:1 aspect ratio and is fabricated with black cherry or champagne matte pattern. A color-matched keyboard and touchpad plus an illuminated HP logo on the cover add a tint of elegance to the device. Moreover, users can opt for ATI discrete graphics for augmenting the laptop’s performance even further.
Just like the G62m, the Pavilion dv7t also comes with incorporated Wi-Fi for wireless connectivity. The tech specs of the notebook read out as an HDMI 1.3c port, optional integrated Blu-ray ROM/DVD5 or RW/DVD writer for high-definition Blu-ray viewing, Dolby Advanced audio, in-built webcam and microphone, speedy eSATA combo port, and optional LightScribe. For rugged protection, it subsumes HP ProtectSmart that identifies any damage and locks the hard drive to protect users’ important data.
The HP G62m and Pavilion dv7t series flaunt the starting prices of $429.99 (approx Rs. 18,887) and $699.99 (approx Rs. 30,747), respectively.
