Asus comes up with interesting Eee PC Seashell netbooks now and again. Their latest offering is the Asus Eee PC 1001PX netbook with a 10.1” LED-backlit WSVGA non-glare screen delivering visuals in 1024 x 600p resolutions. It will be sold with the Windows 7 Starter Edition OS or alternately, Windows XP Home Express Gate OS and the Intel Atom N450 CPU and chipset.

The device packs in a 2.5” 160GB/250GB SATA2 HDD and 1GB/2GB SO-DIMM memory. Users are extended WLAN 802.11b/g as well as Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR connectivity options and an in-built 0.3MP camera. The audio specifications include an integrated mic, speaker and HD Audio CODEC. Eee Docking is a software suite that provides easy access to digital content, services and other applications.

This netbook’s chassis plays host to a VGA connector, two USB 2.0 ports, an audio jack and a LAN RJ-45 terminal. It can be powered by a 3-cell or a 6-cell battery that renders around 4.5 hours and 9 hours of usage between charges, respectively. Other features include an MMC/SD/SDHC card reader, Asus Super Hybrid Engine for energy-efficiency, an ergonomic keyboard, multi-touch touchpad and more.

Asus’ Eee PC 1001PX Seashell will be out in shades of blue, black and white. The price tag and availability date is under wraps for now.
