Studio XPS13 Laptop

Dell now offers its Studio XPS13 laptop with Linux based Ubuntu operating system, reports Electronista. The company recently has come up with Ubuntu as an optional operating system for its notebook.

This 13.3-inch notebook basically comes equipped with 2.4GHz Core2 Duo CPU which is similar to the Windows Vista model. But the company offers an option to upgrade to 2.53GHz Core2 Duo for the Ubuntu users while Vista users can upgrade to either 2.53 or 2.66GHz CPU.

The same applies to the RAM, Ubuntu users can upgrade to 4GB RAM while Vista users have an option to upgrade to either a 6GB or an 8GB RAM.

The Ubuntu laptops do not support mobile broadband modules that assist in data transfer and Internet access while Windows Vista comes with support for the same. A high-capacity 9-cell battery accompanies the Windows Vista model of the XPS13.

The basic operating system that the company offers is Ubuntu Desktop Edition version 8.10 but users can also opt for the 7.04 edition with either one year basic or standard technical support. Overcoming the differences, the pricing of both these models start from $1, 099 (approx Rs.52, 330). The Dell Studio XPS13 laptop with the Linux Ubuntu operating system is now available for purchase.
