Nvidia Tegra-powered Netbooks

Nvidia has revealed its plans to launch a netbook powered by Tegra chip, says Slashgear. The Tegra chip has only been used with Zune HD until now. A prototype of this netbook featuring 8.9-inch screen is currently on display. This prototype was built by Mobinnova.

This netbook consumes only 150mW of energy and is said to support a resolution of 720p. The company remains silent about the specs of this notebook. However, the prototype is said to include Wi-Fi, 3G data radio and webcam. Although the prototype runs on Windows CE operating system, the original product may incorporate Google’s Android.

Nvidia claims that the incorporation of the Tegra chip in this netbook will provide users a battery life of approximately 600 hours. The rumors on the Internet claim that the company is also planning to launch 13.3-inch models of this netbook.

The company has announced that the netbook will be launched in the in November and will cost approximately $244 (approx. Rs.11,805).
