Always Innovating Touch Book shipping in July
Always Innovating’s Touch Book is finally under production and is expected to ship this July, according to Electronista. First glimpsed in March, this device is a combination of a tablet and a netbook.
The 8.9-inch touchscreen flaunts a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. This screen can be detached from the optional snap-in keyboard to be used as a standalone tablet. Texas Instruments 600MHz, OMAP3530 CPU perfectly complements the 512MB RAM for better performance. This hybrid PC is powered by Linux operating system. This operating system is preloaded onto an 8GB microSD card that the device bundles up.
Support for Wi-Fi 802.1 and Bluetooth allow the Touch Book to connect to the Internet and other peripherals wirelessly. The six USB ports further expand the connectivity options. A built-in accelerometer automatically switches the screen orientation from landscape to portrait mode.
The built-in speakers and headphone jack allow users to enjoy their multimedia content. The device also features a microphone and a battery that is capable of providing more than 10 hours of continuous usage.
Always Innovating’s Touch Book is expected to be priced at $299 (approx. Rs.14,520) without the optional keyboard. The optional snap-in keyboard will cost $99 (approx. Rs.4,810).
