Acer Aspire One 531 and D250 Netbooks

A silent launch seems to be a new trend in the technology industry. Earlier this year, we noticed Apple quietly upgraded its 13-inch White Apple Macbook, followed by Dell’s silent announcement of the 4210X DLP projector. Even, Asus had inaudibly introduced the Eee PC 1002H with Atom N280 processor. Now, Acer has entered the movement and launched two new Aspire One netbooks, namely the Aspire One D250 and Aspire One 531, without any rouse.

The details of the Aspire One D250 netbook were seen at Acer’s UK and German sites, whereas the Aspire One 531 was glimpsed at the company’s German site only.

Starting with the common features, the Aspire One D250 and Aspire One 531 offer a choice on the Intel Atom N270 and N280 processors and employ up to 2GB of DDR2 memory and a 160GB hard drive. Acer even allows users to make a choice between the Mobile Intel 945GSE Express Chipset and the Mobile Intel 82801GBM Chipset.

Both the models run on Windows XP Home operating system and possess 0.3 megapixel webcam, three USB 2.0 ports, VGA output and audio in/out.

Other attributes include Wi-Fi b/g connectivity, optional Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and UMTS/HSPA tri-band or quad-band connection. Users will also find Ethernet LAN, a multi-in-1 card reader, high-definition audio support, two built-in stereo speakers, MS sound and an inherent digital microphone. Plus, the 10.1-inch WSVGA high-brightness TFT display with 1024 x 600 pixel resolution which are also commonly found in both the netbooks.

Aspire One D250, it is said to be the slimmer version of the company’s 10.1-inch netbook. A member of the Aspire One D series, it incorporates Acer InviLink 802.11b/g Wi-Fi Certified-network connection and Acer SignalUp wireless technology. It shines in an array of color shades such as Sapphire Blue, Seashell White, Diamond Black and Ruby Red.

Talking about the next Aspire One netbook, the 531 model comes dressed in black, blue and red color tones.

The Acer Aspire One D250 and 531 netbooks are available for orders at Amazon Germany for a suggested price of €379 (approx. Rs. 25,606) and €399 (approx. Rs. 27,022), respectively.
