Acer unveils a special scheme for Indian consumer, the company is offering its Acer Aspire One netbook, based on Linpus Linux Lite OS, for just Rs. 14,499 from Jan 9th to 20th 2009. While the Aspire One, running on Windows XP Home operating system, will be available for Rs. 16,449.

S. Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer, Acer India, explained, “Acer has always believed in bringing the benefits of mobile computing closer to the common man. With this initiative I have no doubt that we will make the dream getting onto the mobile computing bandwagon a reality for millions of our country men. They now have access to the best Netbook in the world at the most amazing price points.”

Features of the stylish and sleek Aspire one include Intel Atom processor, 8.9-inch LCD screen, 1 GB RAM, up to 160 GB of HDD, built-in webcam, easy-to-use one Mail software application suite and battery life of up to 3 hours. For internet users, the mobile computing device supports Messenger for Instant Messaging with Skype, Microsoft Messenger and various other instant messaging services.

The Acer Aspire One comes in five trendy shades such as Sapphire Blue, Brown, Black, Pink & White.

    Wow! This netbook truly have great looks. Its intel Atom inside gives a great 6 to 7 hours battery back up as well. A lovely sleek, lightweight and stylish gadget. +1 product from me. i am surely gonna buy it as soon as possible. MSI is quite a nice company to go with.
