Acer unveils 8000 Series of laptops
Following the Timeline series, Acer now presents its 8000 series of laptops, reports Engadget. The laptops are designed to be used by both business users and general consumers.
The company will introduce this series in 13.3”, 14” and 15.6” sizes. The device is built with standard Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Solo ULV processors. It packages 4GB or 8GB DDR3 RAM based on whether a 32bit or 64bit OS is installed. The series will offer a 160GB or 500GB hard drive.
Reportedly, the laptop series would incorporate either the Intel GMA 4500MHD or ATI 4330 GPU. The laptops are likely to come up with a multi-touch trackpad and optional 3G functionalities.
Apparently, the 15.6” model will offer four USB ports while the 14” and 13.3” models will carry three each. The series will also incorporate a memory card reader and Bluetooth capability. It seems that the 8000 series will offer Draft-N wireless and provide HSDPA connectivity as an upgrade in the due course.
The pricing and availability details of the 8000 series are still under wraps.
