Lenovo ThinkPad X301 Notebooks Introduced

Lenovo ThinkPad X301 Upgrading ThinkPad X300 series of laptop, Lenovo announces the launch of its latest notebook under ThinkPad brand, dubbed X301. The new addition is said to be the rival of MacBook Air.

Successor of the X300, the X301 is powered by Core 2 Duo ultra low volt (ULV) Intel CPUs. Apparently it comes with both 1.6GHz and 1.83GHz processors. Regardless of speed, the X301 is believed to perform about 20 percent faster compared to the earlier model.

Besides, the enhanced and ultra-portable ThinkPad laptop sports a 13.3-inch LED backlit screen, a 128GB solid-state drive option, a DisplayPort without removing VGA to deliver a digital output for 2560×1600 displays. To browse through internet, Lenovo adds a faster, HSPA-based 3G option for AT&T data subscribers or WiMAX as an option once Sprint’s Xohm network launches in September.

The latest Lenovo X301 also incorporates 512 MB to 2 GB of memory, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS for mapping and Ultra Wideband for high-speed, short-range peripherals. There are more features and specifications left to roll out.

Lenovo plans to accept orders from August 26th 2008, the ThinkPad X301 will be priced at $2,599 (approx. Rs. 1,12,445).
