Asus R2E Ultra Mobile PC Launched in India

Targeting the Indian consumers, Asus has again marked its prestige with its latest innovative ultra mobile PC, dubbed R2E. This uniquely designed notebook promises to offer on-the-go computing and mobility.

On the 7-inch LCD screen, users will be available to navigate and explore the road through an in-built GPS with turn-by-turn directions, world wide web browsing, access to TV with an external antenna and remote controller.

Asus R2E also comes with Asus SunRead glare-proof panel that would display images and words sharply for a clear view in bright light.

It is a very innovative notebook that achieves a fine balance between being feature rich and compact at the same time. We believe that an innovation such as the ASUS R2E will provide notebook users in India with a unique solution to their ever increasing on-the-go computing needs.”

Powered by Genuine Windows Vista Edition with Microsoft Origami Experience Pack software, the Asus R2E is equipped with an incorporated Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate), Wireless LAN 802.11 a/b/g and a high-resolution webcam. It also employs ergonomic hardware interface designs that comprises of control keys, including mouse, scroll buttons, hot keys and an on-screen keypad.

Asus also provides its InfoPen software to record and edit images or documents as with color and highlighter options, the DigiPen stylus to navigate an array of application and even double as an eraser and mouse controller.

Designed for business professionals, the latest ultra mobile PC integrates AuthenTec fingerprint scanner with TruePrint technology, which has the ability to read from the live layer of skin and let users access the device. It is also embedded with TPM hardware solution that will avoid attacks by hackers who are trying to capture passwords and encryption keys to sensitive data. Furthermore, it also comes loaded with Secure digital media slot to assists consumers to easily share file with different devices.

Rashi Peripherals and Net Place Technologies have rolled out the ASUS R2E notebook that comes bundled with a USB keyboard for a suggested price of Rs. 64,900/-.
