Sony VAIO Z Series VGN-Z13GN/B and VGN-Z12GN/B Notebooks Launched in India
Sony India has announced the launch of two new notebooks under the VAIO Z line-up, in the Indian market.
The new models VGN-Z13GN/B and VGN-Z12GN/B, boast to be 10% smaller in dimensions as compared to the conventional 33.2 cms notebook with the similar screen size.
Weighing 1.48 kg, the sleek and powerful VAIO Z series laptops are said ideal for both desktop computing and mobility. In terms of looks, the devices come housed in a matte black finish and durable carbon fibre body with a seamless sheet of brushed aluminum.
Powered by Intel Centrino 2 processor, both the notebooks sport Sony’s highly acclaimed Dynamic Hybrid Graphics System, NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS GPU for full graphics acceleration and Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD for mobile situations.
Moreover, the Sony VAIO Z notebooks feature a 13.1-inch clear tough LCD display with a 16:9 aspect ratio at 1600 x 900 pixels (WXGA++) for HD quality experience, a convenient biometric fingerprint sensor, TPM (Trusted Platform Module) security chip and proprietary hard disk drive password protection software.
Both devices also incorporate an in-built 802.11n wireless LAN, pre-loaded Microsoft Windows Vista Business operating system, an optional Blu-ray Disc (BD) optical drive, an HDMI port, three USB ports, support for Memory Stick media/SD card slot, a microphone, headphone jack and a PC Card (type-II) slot.
Coming to the difference between the two laptops, the VGN-13GN/B comes equipped with a 4 GB DDR3 SRAM and a 320 GB hard disk drive, while the VGN-12GN/B bundles 2 GB DDR3 SRAM and a 250 GB hard disk drive.
The Sony VGN-Z13GN/B and VGN-Z12GN/B notebooks are priced at Rs.124, 900 and Rs. 99,990, respectively. The VAIO Z series of laptop is available in India through select national retail partners, authorized retailers and Sony stores.
