New Line of Acer Notebooks based on Intel’s Montevina platform, Unveiled in India
Acer India introduces its latest range of notebooks in the Indian market. The new line consists of notebooks based on Intel’s Montevina platform.
On the PDC platform, the Acer had made available the Aspire 4730z notebook, the successor of the Aspire 4720z.
The Aspire 4730z is powered by Intel Montevina Pentium dual core T3200 (2.0 GHz / 1 MB L2 Cache / 667 Mhz FSB) with Mobile Intel GL40 Express Chipset. The notebook sports a 14.1 inch WXGA Acer Crystalbrite Wide Screen with 16ms response time. Other features include 2 GB RAM, 160GB HDD and Acer Crystal Eye Web camera.
It will be available with an option of Vista Home Premium, Vista Home Basic and Linux operating system.
The Aspire 4730z is available in the market at MRP of near Rs 38,000/-.
On the Gemstone Blue notebook line up Acer has brought in Aspire 6930, replacing the Aspire 6920 which was based on Core2 Duo Platform.
The 16 inch Aspire 6930 is powered by Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 Montevina Processor (2.0 GHz / 2MB L2 Cache / 800Mhz) and packs in 3GB DDR2 667 MHz Dual Channel Memory which is upgradeable to 4 GB.
The notebook offers cutting-edge graphics with a Full HD CineCrystal LCD, 8ms response time and native 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio.
The Aspire 6930 notebook is priced at an MRP nearing Rs 51,000.
Next in line is the Aspire 4930 notebook which replaces the Aspire 5920. The 14.1 inch Aspire 4930 runs on the latest mobile Montevina Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 (2.0 GHz / 2MB L2 Cache / 800 Mhz FSB) supporting Mobile Intel® GM45 Express chipset and Intel® Wireless WiFi Link network solution.
Other features include 160 GB HDD, 2GB RAM and battery life of up to 3 hours. It comes with Linux OS and is priced at MRP of near Rs. 43,500/-.
And lastly, the 14.1 inches TravelMate 4730 will be available with the new Montevina platform. It will also come with an option of 1 GB/ and 2GB RAM options and 160gb / 320gb hard drive versions. The pricing for the TravelMate 4730 has not been announced yet.
