Asus G71 Series Quad Core gaming notebook introduced
Asus launches the G71 series Quad Core gaming notebook. It claims to be the world’s first Intel Quad Core gaming notebook that has been specifically designed for gamers.
The Asus G71 is available in two versions, one with Intel Quad Core Intel Core2 Quad processor QX9300 (2.53GHz, 6MB Cache, 1333MHz FSB) and other one with Intel Core2 Duo Processor T9400 (2.53GHz, 6MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB).
The common features being mobile Intel PM45 Express Chipset +ICH9M-E, Intel WiMAX/ WiFi Link 5100, 4GB DDR2 1333MHz SDRAM (2 x 2GB), NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT with 512MB GDDR3 VRAM, Intel Turbo Memory Technology with 2GB NANDFlash(optional), 17″ WUXGA, High Brightness, Color Shine, dual hard disk drives; 500 GB (250 GB x 2) 5,400 rpm, Blu-ray Combo, 2-megapixel swivel web camera, built-in Bluetooth V2.1+EDR and runs on Windows Vista Ultimate.
The G71 offers an array of entertainment features including Altec Lansing speakers with a subwoofer, dedicated game keyboard layout and supports optional accessories like the Eee Stick that transforms the G71 into a mobile gaming console.
Its Direct Console 2.0 all-in-one gaming control interface allows you to choose from three processor speed settings which depends on the mode of usage and the gaming hotkeys enable you to launch your favorite games just by a single touch. The G71 chassis integrates a programmable lighting system that is configured via Direct Console 2.0, it lights up and blinks thus creating an ambience that is apt during in-game events. The G71 notebook comes with a Direct Messenger that displays notifications, instant messages (MSN), battery reserves and system loadings in real-time.
The Asus G71 with Intel Quad Core is expected to be priced at £1,999 (approx Rs. 1,51,085) while the G71 with Intel Core2 Duo is suggested at a retail price of £1,349 (approx Rs. 1,01,059).
