Samsung R55 Laptop with Hybrid HDD Launched
Samsung has launched the first laptop with the Hybrid HDD (HHD). The R55 multimedia notebook will have a 80GB HHD. It will offer a 26% improvement on data reading, 71% improvement of data writing speed, 32% lower power consumption and increased HDD longevity by 10% when used for small portions up to 10Mb.

The HHD is a type of large-buffer computer hard disk drive enhances the speed, decreases power consumption, offers improved reliability and gives a faster boot process. Samsung claims the HHD in the R55 laptop will offer a 26% improvement on data reading, 71% improvement of data writing speed, 32% lower power consumption and increased HDD longevity by 10% when used for small portions up to 10Mb.
However, this type of innovative technology does not come cheap. You will have to shell out around $1,923 (approx. Rs. 80, 000).
