Microsoft Multi Touch Technology Notebook Displayed
After the showcase of the Surface, Microsoft has demonstrated multi-touch notebook PC in UK now.
Researchers at Microsoft’s Cambridge, UK location have modified a standard Dell notebook. After modification, the notebook includes infrared detectors behind the screen, achieving the same effect as the cameras in Surface without the associated size. The technology can apply the same dragging, pinching, and tapping motions. The new system works on standard Windows Vista. Researcher Steve Hodges demonstrated this new notebook.
More or less the same multi touch technology has been used in Apple iPhone and Microsoft’s recently demonstrated product, the Surface.
As of now information about the implementation of this technology in a shipping product is all that’s known. But if it comes surely it’ll be a high end product.
