However, according to reports, the company is keenly anticipating the HTC Shift Ultra-mobile computer by early next year at the Consumer Electronics Show.

Running on Windows Vista Business, HTC Shift will feature the SnapVUE technology, a mini-operating system that would be working alongside Vista on its own 400 MHz processor and memory but using the same display. It also sports a QWERTY keyboard and a 7-inch touchscreen. When you slide the screen, the keyboard comes out.

You can have access to emails, calendar, SMS messages and contacts instantly. Moreover, you need not fully boot up the system, this conserves power and enhance battery life.

The tablet designed gadget is powered by Intel Stealey 800 MHz processor and offers 1 GB of RAM and a 40 GB hard drive. It also comes equipped with Wi-Fi (b/g) and Bluetooth 2.0, as well as the 3G cellular standards UMTS and HSDPA as well as SD slot, a GPS receiver, VGA out and a biometric fingerprint scanner.

Let the New Year set in and HTC might finally officially announce the release date with the pricing details of the HTC Shift Vista UMPC.
