On Tuesday, Dell launched a new series of desktops and laptops called Vostro. The newly announced computing devices are especially designed for a simple network and businesses having less than 25 employees.

“For too long, entrepreneurs have been forced to fit either consumer or large corporate solutions into their unique environments,” said Dell Chairman and CEO Michael Dell. “Vostro changes the game for small-business owners by empowering them to choose the exact IT solutions they need to be successful.”

The Dell Vostro 1000 Notebook has 15.4″ display and it works on dual core AMD processors. Besides, it has up to 2 GB of memory and up to 120 GB hard drive. The notebook also features 3-1 media card readers and choice of Windows Vista or Windows XP.

Other notebooks in the Vostro Series are the Vostro 1400, 1500 and 1700. All these laptops are equipped with Wi-Fi, optional Built-in Mobile Broadband from top 3 U.S. carriers and optional Bluetooth. The notebook features long lasting battery having life of up to 8 hours.

Other features of Vostro notebooks are MediaDirect with Instant Office, Optional Intel Core 2 Duo Processors, up to 4 GB system memory, 8-1 media card reader and optional integrated Web cam for video conferencing.

The Dell Vostro 1400 notebook is incorporated with 14.1″ wide anti-glare display and it also features dedicated graphics (128 MB Nvidia GeForce Go 8400M GS). While the Vostro 1500 sports 15.4″ wide anti-glare display and also has dedicated graphics (128 MB Nvidia GeForce Go 8400M GS or 256 MB Nvidia GeForce Go 8600M GT).

The Dell Vostro 1700 notebook carries integrated numeric keypad with 17″ wide anti-glare display. This notebook is also well equipped with dedicated graphics (128 MB Nvidia GeForce Go 8400M GS or 256 MB Nvidia GeForce Go 8600M GT).

Moreover Dell’s Vostro series includes a desktop called Vostro 200. The new Dell desktop features optional Intel Core 2 Duo processors; up to 4 GB of 667 MHz memory; up to 1 TB of internal storage; dual monitor capability; up to 256 MB PCIe x16 dedicated graphics card; and convenient access to USB ports through front panel. Dell also offers a choice between Windows Vista and Windows XP.

Other thing that included in the new series is the Dell E198WFP 19-inch Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor. The new monitor has 1,440 x 900 resolution and 5 ms response time. Besides, it features 1000:1 contrast ratio and optional attached AS501 multimedia soundbar.

That’s not it. The new Vostro series also contains two laser printers called Dell 1320c and Dell 1125.

The Vostro 1320c printer features single pass print engine that delivers fast color print speeds of up to 12 ppm in color and 16 ppm in black. Other features of this printer are 600 dpi x 600 dpi optical resolution, professional laser-quality output and personal connect via USB 2.0 or optional Ethernet 10/100 Base T networking key

Dell 1125 is a multifunctional printer performing functions such as printing, copying, scanning and standalone fax functions. Its printing speed is up to 21 pages per minute. Besides, the printer scans with 600 dpi x 600 dpi optical resolution for optimal clarity image and color reproduction of original documents. The Paperport 11 SE software for scanning documents comes along with the mechanism.
