Vizio has unveiled its new XVT series of HDTVs with the launch of eight new models that are powered with various hi-fi technologies. These technologies include 240Hz scenes per second (SPS), TruLED with Smart Dimming backlight technology, Vizio Internet Apps (VIA) and high-style Slim Line profile 120Hz LCD.

All the models meet the standards specified by the Energy Star 3.0. This ensures that they are energy-efficient. All Extreme Vizio Technology (XVT) HDTVs bundle up USB video inputs, maximum 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, universal learning remote controls and an advanced user interface control with picture-in-picture and picture-on-picture functionality.

The hi-fi USB inputs offer high quality 1080p video playback while the contrast ratio brings to users amazing black levels and almost three-dimensional imagery. Users can enjoy high quality audio, thanks to the incorporated TruSurround technology from SRS Labs. This technology helps deliver clear sound without any external speakers. Moreover, the TruVolume technology helps combat volume fluctuations created during commercial breaks and also when users switch between the channels.

Powered by Smooth Motion technology, the 42″, 47″ and 55″ HDTVs display images at 1080p resolution with a speed of 240Hz SPS. Two models of the above mentioned HDTVs comprise of TruLED and Smart Dimming backlight technology.

These HDTVs also come with the Internet Apps feature (called VIA) that bundles up customized Bluetooth universal remote control, built-in wireless (802.11n dual-band) and wired networking, sliding QWERTY keyboard and interactive video setup. This set-up guides users to customize the remote and connect their Vizio TV easily. The VIA feature also features innumerable technologies and software services like Yahoo Widget Engine that allows a new class of Internet services for TV environment, called TV Widgets. It also supports Adobe Flash Platform that helps developers and content providers to deliver rich applications, HD video and other Web content. Moreover, the 32-inch and 37-inch 120Hz HDTV models sport Slim Line stylish designs.

The thin line 32″ SV320XVT and 37″ SV370XVT Vizio HDTV models priced at $749.99 (approx. Rs.36,444) and $849.99 (approx Rs.41,303) will be available in September. The SV421XVT and SV422XVT 42″ models will be available in July and November respectively for $1,199.99 (approx Rs.58,403) each.

The SV471XVT and SV472XVT 47″ models will be available in July and October for a price of $499.99 (approx. Rs.24,334) and $699.99 (approx Rs.34,067) respectively. The VF550XVT and VF551XVT 55″ models priced at $1,999.99 (approx. Rs.97,342) and $2,199.99 (approx Rs.1, 07,073) will be available in June and September respectively while the 55″ VF552XVT model priced at $2,199.99 (approx Rs.1, 07,073) will be available in December.
