Space Invader Alarm Clock Developed

Jason Hickner has designed an innovative DIY space invader clock. He has developed it with the use of an old Sony portable TV and circuit, which has the ability to generate the video of the game on the clock.

He expresses, “I started out with the goal of just displaying the time digitally, but I got sidetracked with the idea of representing the time with icons instead. I ended up going with this spacer invaders concept.”

The clock uses aliens to indicate minutes, extra lives for hours and the last four digits of the high score also represent the time.

The clock doesn’t start unless you push in onto the top thus lighting up the device. It comes with an AA battery, alarm, dates, and year’s functionality. When the alarm rings, the clock emits various colors such as red, yellow, green on the top of the clock piece.

A not-so-easy-to-read Space Invader alarm clock will retail for 39,000 Yen (approx Rs. 1320) in Japan.
