Vuzix Wrap 1200VR Video Eyewear

Following the release of the STAR 1200 Video Eyewear in May this year, Vuzix has unveiled its new Wrap 1200VR. The latest offering brings the virtual world to life with its 16:9 widescreen, virtual display and incredible head tracking for step-inside gaming.

The glasses provide a 35 degree field of view that is equal to watching 3D content on a 75-inch display from 10 feet away. Its new head tracking technology, Wrap Tracker 6TC and compass brings together nine sensors which create a 3 degree of freedom solution with automatic drift compensation for fluid, realistic motion tracking. Incorporating support for the latest side-by-side 3D video format, the device accommodates 100 titles for 3D video and/or head tracking. Popular game titles such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Fallout 3, F.E.A.R and more.

Paul Travers, CEO Vuzix Corporation commented, “The Wrap 1200VR allows our customers to step into another world, creating an immersive gaming or movie watching experience. With new tracking sensor technology and improved WVGA displays that support resolutions of up to 1280 x 720 (720p), the Wrap 1200VR provides the best consumer level VR solution available today.”

The 1200VR is capable of connecting to any Windows graphic card desktop or laptop computer, including Windows 7, Vista and XP (32 and 64-bit versions). This is said to make it ideal for big screen interactive gaming monitors. This new device comes with optional interfaces by which it can connect to component video devices like Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.

The Vuzix Wrap 1200VR is now available at vuzix.com for a price of $599.99 (approx. Rs. 28,915).
