A PlayStation phone has been in the news for really long, although it’s been hidden from actual view until now. Sony Ericsson has decided to put all rumors to rest by officially announcing the February 13 unveiling of the Xperia Play through their official Facebook page.
A rather creepy advertisement of the device is already doing the rounds. It is speculated that the handset will be exhibited at this year’s MWC in Barcelona. Much to the gamer’s delight, this upcoming game changer is touted to demonstrate Sony PlayStation-like ingenuity while being certified as the first ever PS smartphone.
As of now, the details regarding its specifications are very scant. All we know is that the handset sports a sleek look and comes equipped with a slide-out gamepad. Further, the device is powered by Google’s Android OS which is probably v2.3 or Gingerbread.
The information regarding the pricing and availability of the Xperia Play is yet to be revealed to the general public.
